CHALLENGE:
Petrobras was looking for a more efficient and accurate way of monitoring and managing the condition of its subsea equipment, such as pipelines and production equipment, which would assess risks strategically and reduce operating costs.
DEVELOPMENT:
The digital twins under development offer support for inspection, life extension and asset reuse decisions, using product and production data to model degradation processes, providing the ability to carry out descriptive (current state) and predictive (future state) analysis, using mathematical models and databases fed with real production and equipment data.
OUTCOME:
- Digitalization of subsea asset integrity management: By providing precise information on the condition of equipment, digital twins make it possible to optimize the useful life of assets through actions such as life extension and the reuse of components.
- Cost reduction: they can optimize the frequency and scope of inspections, reducing costs.
- Risk management: allows precise and detailed identification of threats to asset integrity, such as corrosion, erosion and valve failures.
