CHALLENGE

This project’s goal was to research and develop a solution for an intelligent energy storage system for batteries that can be a new WEG product for energy supply, management and storage, and configured for applications for industry, commerce, condominiums, hospitals, remote areas, the military and defense, regions with poor energy distribution networks, agriculture and itinerant activities.

DEVELOPMENT

Several features were developed for the product. Highlighted by:

• Scheduled energy supply,
• Mode for limiting demand,
• Support for frequency and voltage,
• Supply modulation. All of the functionalities were effectively proven in field tests and the product was placed in WEG’s solutions portfolio.

RESULT

The final result was a complete energy generation, management and storage solution installed in a container, in a prototype version for field operation, to be used to support electric vehicle charging stations. It is installed and operational at a gas station in the Itacorubi neighborhood of Florianópolis, in Santa Catarina state. In addition, a strategic analysis of marketplace insertion was conducted and the necessary recommendations were made for the final product specifications, aimed at beginning production and placing it on the market.
